BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution

First implemented in 2006 the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution provides the essential certification link between the range of BRC manufacturing Standards and the end user, the retailer/food service company. The objective of the Global Standard is to ensure that product integrity during storage and distribution does not deteriorate.

This Standard includes the audit requirements, scheme rules and background to the Standard and provides the basis for an accredited certification of sites storing and/or distributing food, packaging and consumer products.

Certification is achieved by undertaking a third-party audit against Standard requirements by an accredited certification body (CB).

Certima B.V. is providing the BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution under the accreditation of a partner organization.

The BRC Global Standard for Storage and Distribution is risk-based with a strong emphasis on Hazard and Risk Analysis to identify and manage potential product safety risks, managed through requirements on safety, documentation, processes, etc.

Additional Modules cover wholesaling and services including contract parking, product inspection, and waste recovery and recycling, to acknowledge the various services provided by logistics companies.
