BRC Global Standards

Standards guarantee the standardisation of quality, safety and operational criteria and ensure that manufacturers fulfil their legal obligations and provide protection for the end consumer. Certification to BRC Global Standards is now often a fundamental requirement of leading retailers, manufacturers and food service organisations.

The range of BRC standards are aimed at various sectors within the food and consumer products supply chain and all of the standards incorporate senior management commitment, risk assessment, hazard analysis, quality management and good manufacturing practices.

Certima B.V.  provides certification in the following standards:

GLOBAL STANDARD FOR FOOD SAFETY

This standard specifies the food safety, quality and operational criteria required within a food manufacturing organisation. The standard doesn’t apply to food products which do not undergo any process at the site audited or to activities relating to wholesale, importation, distribution or storage outside the direct control of the company. This standard is recognised by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).

GLOBAL STANDARD START!

The START! programme has been developed to complement the Global Standard for Food Safety. As certification to the Standard continues to develop, it’s important to provide opportunities to recognise and encourage the development of food safety systems in small sites where the full requirements of the Standard may not always be practical or add value, and in sites that are still developing food safety management systems.
