IFS Wholesale / Cash & Carry Standard
IFS Wholesale / Cash & Carry Standard was developed to optimize the audit procedures of wholesalers and cash & carry markets. These two distinct types of businesses are seen as important connectors between producers and processors as well as commercial clients. Besides a wide range of traded products, they can also carry out certain treatment and/or processing activities and develop their own brands. Depending on the core business of the company, a tailor made checklist applies, either for Wholesale or Cash & Carry.
IFS Wholesale/Cash & Carry covers all handling activities of loose products in Cash & Carry-markets or wholesale companies. It also includes production process guidance for a limited pool of products such as minced meat. Similar to IFS Food with the added instruction on handling certain requirements in the Cash & Carry markets or wholesale companies.
IFS Wholesale/Cash & Carry provides the ability to attain multi-site certification, for sites and markets with similar activities, under specific conditions.
To demonstrate compliance with IFS Wholesale/Cash & Carry, the company needs to be audited by an accredited and approved certification body. If the audit is successful, a certificate is issued. The certificate is valid for 12 months followed by a recertification audit every year.
